While it may not be much to others not struggling with the daily trials of childhood cancer. To us it is a piece of our sanity and again it's hope that normalcy will once again return to our daily lives when we defeat this beast. So we beg of you please do not take this away from our families...

Again, I would like to thank you guys for helping Chef Lucas  provide us with that experience of being a normal family through 2018! Matt and Lucas are truly angels. As are all of you at love your melon for enabling them to do so. I am sure you will be hearing from other Chef Lucas families soon. It is my hope that  If nothing else my post has helped you realize what this program means to all of us....

 It's Normalcy!

Something as simple as a meal box that we can all cook together as a family makes us forget all of that stuff even if it's only for one night a week! In my opinion there is not a price that can be put on that...

For it is this seemingly small bit of normality that gives us the strength to continue this fight! It's this simple act of working together as a team to cook a gourmet meal that has been our beacon of hope that we will once again be the family we were the day before childhood cancer changed our lives! So I am writing this on behalf of my family and the other families in 20 states to ask you to please reconsider your decision not to fund the Chef Lucas program in 2019.

In a world of needles, sickness, chemo, parents worrying that if we take our kids out in public, will they get sick,? Worrying that you may bring home sickness from work and they will get sick!! For at least my family and other members of the Chef Lucas meal program it is our little slice of Normalcy!

In a world of blood transfusions, needing platelets, steroids, emotional breakdowns, time spent comforting your child that it's just the treatment making them feel terrible today and it's normal for them to worry about dying while going through something this intense  and for us parents it the normality we need on those days when the cold hard reality hits that you may out live your child..

Then I realized... You may not know what this means to us...

I am sorry this post has been such a long one but it's going to be a bit longer because I need you to know the importance of the Chef Lucas program!

What the guys at Chef Lucas have been doing is nothing short of a miracle to all of the families!
That miracle can be defined in  one word....
Normalcy!

but Celebrities and many others alike! Well, that's just brilliant! Thank you for standing by what you believe in...

So now I would like to get to why I am here posting this on your wall and not in a private message. Remember those cancer related organizations I spoke of earlier? My family has also been part of the Chef Lucas Meal program for families of children with cancer

Calling all Chef Lucas families!! I am sure most of you heard that this program will be put on hold indefinitely due to love your melon choosing not to fund it again in 2019. If your family loves the meal boxes and family time as much as mine does I would like to ask a favor. Please reach out to love your melon so they know how much this means to us! I chose to post it on their wall so many others can see how critical this is for us. You can choose how you would like reach out to Love Your Melon or not at all if that is what you choose to do. However I am hoping that each family will so we can show them strength in numbers and they might reconsider the funding.
Thanks for looking at my post,
Below is what I posted to their FB page:
First let me say that what you guys are doing for all of our families who have children battling cancer is amazing! My son has been a receiving end of a free Love Your Melon hat and he loves it! I am also aware of all the funding you guys have given to cancer related organizations and for research. You folks are nothing short of amazing! The fact that you were able to market these hats so that they have become the next big thing for not only those that have had cancer touch their family
